We only had another half day at Venice...something we will certainly change the next time we come back. What an amazing city. Anywho, we worked our way through the fish and fruit markets that were in the many little Piazzas and markets and got to the Basilica di San Marco. Unreal! When you think about the size of the church itself and the detail of everything in it, you had to sit down and just shake your head. We were in the Basilica for almost two hours touring, overlooking the Piazza below, and overlooking the Grande Canal. What a moment.
After that, we had to catch a train for our next stop - Florence. Unfortunately, we got lost on the way back to the hotel. WAY LOST! OFF THE MAP LOST!! After thirty minutes of trying to find the right streets and bridges to cross, we made it back in time to get our luggage and get to the train station. We loaded up and got a few zzzzz's in on the two hour train ride and stated preparing for our next adventure.
