October Extra Credit

Each month you will have an opportunity to earn extra credit. It will not be announced in class but if you read about it here, you should probably let your friends and classmates know about it.

In order to earn points, answers must be turned in on a 3x5 notecard. Each answer is worth two (2) additional points towards your point total so far. The questions are listed below.

1. Leveche - a hot, dry wind that blows over Spain - originates in which desert?

2. Most of the people in Naxcivan, an exclave of Azerbaijan, are followers of what religion?

3. Name the special administrative region of China, once a Portuguese colony, that lies in the Pearl River Delta.

4. Which country, crossed by the Tropic of Cancer, borders Guinea and Algeria?

5. Cobh, formerly called Queenstown, is a port on Cork Harbor in which country?
