Class News for Week of November 3

Hey gang. Time to start a new unit. This week we will begin our unit on Southwest Asia. We will be completing a physical and political map of the region as well as learning about ten important terms for this important area of the world. After the week is over we should be able to answer two important questions:
1 - What are the similarities between Christianity, Islam and Judaism?
2 - Why is the world dependent on this region?
We will also begin our big project for this unit towards the end of the week. A quick reminder - we will begin presenting our RV Projects next week! Just because we are finished with our study of the U.S. doesn't mean we will stop discussing our great country. Any questions, please click the comment link and leave them. I will do my best to respond in a timely manner.

Why do we need to know different places in southwest Asia?

matthewlawhead said...

Rachel

We will briefly study the three major religions that are practiced around the world.

We need to know about the different countries in SW Asia to understand why we are having so many problems with them at this moment. If we look at their culture and ours, we might begin to understand why there is so much tension. Also, when people talk about the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, it would be helpful to know where they are on a map!

To fill out the spinner, use the Take Home Review Activity. The worksheet has specific details about each country that we are studying.
