Humungo/Gigantor Project

Thursday will be the beginning of our epic 700+ point project that includes LA, Science, and World Geography. It will be a very labor intensive (busy and hard) project. It should be about three and a half or four days worth of work. Stay tuned in here for further updates.

SECTION 9-2: You will be doing a similar project, but not as point heavy. Pay attention in class and tune in here for your own updates.

Panama Canal WebCams!

In class we briefly discussed the Panama Canal and how it lets ships bypass the southern tip of South America. Below is a website that will let you view live shots from a webcam of the Panama Canal. Take a few minutes and see what is happening down there!

Class News for week of 04-28

This week we will be starting a short chapter on Central America and the Caribbean Islands. There will be a number of worksheets due Wednesday so that we can have a class discussion on key information from the chapter.
We will also begin a collaborative unit that incorporates not only World Geography, but also Language Arts and Science. This will be a very intense unit with a lot of deadlines...make sure you are writing down due dates and paying attention in all three courses!

Information for your Summary of Mexico

Remember the following about your summary:

- You must use all 12 vocabulary words from our chapter of study in your summary
- The summary must fit on the front sheet
- You must have an equal number of quick facts on either sides

Please review the other summary sheets about countries if you are having trouble getting started. Remember, I am happy to review the summary if you bring it to me.

Class News for week of 04-21

Our goal for this week in every section will be to finish our study of Mexico. All maps should be completed by Wednesday. We will review our Guided Reading assignments and get a better understanding of what Mexico is like by using Google Earth. Be prepared for an examination by Friday at the latest.

We will be starting a very short chapter on Mexico this week. Our plan is to complete the four maps and two guided readings by Wednesday. There will be one Google Earth activity and a clock making activity also.

Greetings! This week there will be a lot going on.

** Sometime during the first three days, you will have your map retest.
** Sometime during the last three days you will have your Canada chapter exam.

I also expect tape day to be on Thursday for our projects and that we will start Notebook Checks on either Thursday or Friday.
